Progesterone attenuates Th17 pathogenicity in the autoimmune uveitis. Mus musculus

Autoimmune uveitis (AU) is the most common ophthalmic manifestation of various autoimmune diseases (AD), characterized by complex etiology, high morbidity and mortality. The anesis of AU had been observed on female patients with pregnancy. As the critical hormone for reproduction, the effect of progesterone (PRG) on the pathogenesis mechanism of AU remains unclear. Here we established the experimental autoimmune uveitis (EAU) animal models and depicted a multimodal high-dimensional immune microenvironment atlas between EAU mice and PRG-treated EAU mice to explore the underlying therapeutic mechanism leveraging single-cell RNA sequencing.
