资源简介:
This dataset is related to electrochemical deposition of silver performed in two deep eutectic solvents (DES) : ethaline 1:2 and propeline 1:3, using a soluble silver anode. 25 μm thick deposits have been prepared in a lab-scale stirred cell at various current densities in a dry atmosphere, with faradaic yields close to 100% for both anodic dissolution of silver and cathodic deposition. The influence of electrochemical parameters on silver deposits morphology was examined : applied current density, the use of constant or pulsed current with different ton, toff and duty cycles values. Under constant current conditions, the deposits consisted of a compact layer formed by 10–25 μm regular grains with little significant coalescence, with the presence of larger dendritic entities in peripheral regions of the electrode, resulting from local more sluggish agitation. The use of pulsed current led to visible improvement of the deposit morphology and smaller grains with propeline 1:3, whereas no real changes were observed with ethaline 1:2. More environment-friendly propeline 1:3 thus appears an effective alternative to ethaline 1:2. The change in roughness deposits over the runs was followed by comparison of overall charge/mass transfer rates and apparent diffusion coefficients, estimated from cyclic and linear sweep voltammetries. These properties were compared to values obtained using well-polished platinum and disk electrodes. This dataset contains : - Scanning Electron Microscopy images and X-Ray Diffarctogramms of silver deposits, with indications of grains size - Raw cyclic/linear voltammograms related to the determination of silver kinetics parameters.
