This study explores how Spodoptera frugiperda larvae respond at the transcriptomic level when exposed to Simarouba glauca bark extract, which showed strong larvicidal and antifeedant effects. Using Illumina-based high-throughput paired-end sequencing, we profiled gene expression changes to uncover key genes and molecular pathways disrupted by the extract. The analysis revealed critical insights into the toxic and deterrent mechanisms of S. glauca, paving the way for its potential application in sustainable, plant-based pest control strategies
