SAR11 bacteria are the most dominant microorganisms in marine environments and contribute significantly to global carbon and nutrient cycling. Pelagiphages that infect SAR11 bacteria are potential drivers in structuring the communities, shaping the evolution, and reprograming the metabolism of SAR11. However, interactions between SAR11 and pelagiphages remain largely unexplored. Here, we investigated the transcriptional profiles of the SAR11 strain, HTCC7211, and the pelagiphage HTVC100P during the lytic infection cycle using RNA-Seq analysis.
