Novel Stable Silyl, Germyl, and Stannyl Germanium(II) Compounds Containing an Amidinato Ligand

Reactions of the N,N′-chelated chlorogermanium(II) compound [Me3SiNC(Ph)NSiMe3]GeCl with the magnesium reagents Mg[E(SiMe3)3]2 (E = Si, Ge, Sn) gave the new metallyl germylenes [Me3SiNC(Ph)NSiMe3]GeE(SiMe3)3, representing the first isolated silyl- and stannylgermylenes. These compounds have been fully characterized by multinuclear NMR spectroscopy and their structures determined by X-ray diffraction analysis.
