Thlaspi arvense L. (field pennycress) plants from accessions MN106 and Spring 32-10 were subjected to 7 days of root waterlogging in a growth chamber during the reproductive developmental stage (2 weeks after flowering). To investigate changes in gene expression under waterlogging, RNA was extracted from roots, leaves, and silicles of waterlogged and non-waterlogged/control plants immediately after the 7 day waterlogging treatment. To investigate changes in gene expression during recovery from 7 days of waterlogging, RNA was extracted from roots, leaves, and silicles of waterlogged plants after 3 hours of recovery from 7 days of waterlogging. Additionally, plants in the Spring 32-10 background were subjected to 3 days of waterlogging, and RNA was extracted from roots, leaves, and silicles of waterlogged and control plants to analyze gene expression during shorter periods of reproductive-stage waterlogging.
