Decktools

Decktools is a set of useful tools for your Snowflake account. Includes several tools, including the powerful QTag user-defined function and user-defined table function, which allow you to better understand query comments that expose additional query metadata.

Decktools includes the following functions:

QTAG(query text): Will automatically extract common comment patterns for tools like DBT from SQL text and return a list of identified attributes in a variant. See link to doc for more details on what QTAG is about & trying to accomplish. This variant is a simplified variant of the below where allcomments and allattributes are defaulted to false. In this case, only comments that follow defined structures by tools including dbt, mode, sigma, and hex as well as self-describing comments will be returned.

QTAG(query text, allcomments boolean, allattributes boolean): A variant of QTAG that takes additional arguments to allow non-standard QTag attributes to be extracted. All comments means that all json structured comments are extracted, not just known QTag ones. All attributes decides whether or not unexpected attributes for known comments are extracted. By default, both of these options are false if you use the simple version of this function.

QTAG_TABLE(query text) and QTAG_TABLE(query text, allcomments boolean, allattributes boolean): These are versions of QTAG that return a table result as opposed to an array result.

ARRAY_SORT(arr array): A function that will sort of list of items (numbers or strings).

ARRAY_OVERLAPS_ALL(main array, target array): Determines whether all of the items in the target array are in the main array. The main array may have additional elements.

ARRAY_OVERLAPS_ANY(main array, target array): Determines whether at least one of the elements in the target array also exists in the main array.
