In 2021, Georgia was the state with the highest licensing fees for electric vehicles, reaching around 345 U.S. dollars compared to 25 U.S. dollars for standard vehicles. It was followed by Washington and West Virginia, both states having a licensing fee under 300 U.S. dollars. States with the lowest starting licensing fee for electric vehicles, such as Rhode Island and Louisiana, had the same licensing fee for standard vehicles, as data from the Consumer Choice Center shows.
