TGFB1 mediated intercellular signaling fuels cooperative cellular invasion

We used collective cancer cell invasion, the process by which cohesive groups of cells invade into the adjacent stroma while maintaining cell cell contacts, as a model system to deconstruct cellular processes underlying non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) subpopulation cooperation. We engineered a new platform that combines single cell RNA sequencing with SaGA (an image-guided genomics approach we developed; Khatib 2023, Konen 2017) to profile transcriptomic signatures across heterogeneous subpopulations during the collective invasion of NSCLC cells.
