Trichomonas gallinae (A1) vs Escherichia coli Co-culture RNAseq

RNAseq study investigating the resultant transcriptomic profile for the bird parasite Trichomonas gallinae (A1) when co-cultured with the bacteria Escherichia coli. It is known that there is an intimate relationship between Trichomonas spp. and their neighbouring and co-habiting microbiota. However, the direct interactions between the two are not well understood. This work aims to help elucidate what interactions occur between the parasite and bacteria using two model organisms at the level of the transcriptome for the parasite. Discovering more about how Trichomonas spp. and the microbiota interacts can help to inform us about how disease can develop in parasite infected individuals and/ or how the parasite can contribute towards dysbiosis.
