Epidemiological population analysis of Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates from 2014-2019 from Amsterdam, the Netherlands

This epidemiological population analysis included 318 Neisseria gonorrhoeae isolates obtained between 2014-2019 from Amsterdam, the Netherlands. A large proportion (80/318) of those isolates were reduced susceptible for ceftriaxone with a MIC =>0.094 ug/mL. Multi-Locus Sequence Typing showed an association between MLST7363, MLST1901 and MLST7827 and ceftriaxone reduced susceptibility. This population analysis also revealed the emergence of reduced susceptible clone belonging to MLST7827 during recent years in Amsterdam.
