Is there a role for melanopsin in chromatic adaptation?

Within this context we consider whether melanopsin (the photo-pigment expressed by intrinsically photosensitive retinal ganglion cells) may have the right attributes to play a role in chromatic adaptation (the process by which human vision adapts to ambient lighting of different chromaticities). I shall give an overview of the context and motivation, and multiple experiments which are ongoing, and which attempt to answer this question from different perspectives.A longer abstract will be available in the conference proceedings (or email the author).
