16S rRNA gene high-throughput sequencing of invasive Gracilaria vermiculophylla

Sequencing data are related to the effects of elevated temperature on the dynamic changes of epibacterial communities on invasive G. vermiculophylla using a benthocosm system in Kiel, Germany and 16S rRNA gene amplicon sequencing. We characterized the effect of elevated temperature on the dynamic epibacterial community composition and diversity. We also tested whether there are core microbiota and indicator species. Understanding the dynamics of epibacteria on G. vermiculophylla will help us to explore potentially mechanisms behind its invasion.
