This dataset consists of tiff format images obtained in a laboratory tank by Planar Laser-Induced Fluorescence (PLIF) on a refractive index-matched oil jet/plume. Large field of view images are provided at three different levels of turbulence. High magnification images focus on the details of each flow field at three distances from the injection site, measured as the ratio of distance to the diameter of the injection nozzle. The experiments were conducted in the oil-spill laboratory at Johns Hopkins University. This dataset supports the publication: Xue, X., & Katz, J. (2019).
