In this study, different cultivars of Bt and non-Bt maize were used to test the effects of maize genotype on the colonization ability and community diversity of arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi in roots under field conditions. Global food security requires understanding the ways in which natural soil communities can improve production of cultivated crops and the ways in which different plant genotypes may affect this symbiotic interaction.
