资源简介:
Detrended GPS total electron content (TEC) data over the South American sector based on measurements from LISN network conducted in 2011. The GPS TEC data were detrended using a special numerical technique described in Pradipta et al. (2015) [https://doi.org/10.1002/2015JA021723]. The GPS TEC data detrending process was performed along the ionospheric piercing point (IPP) trajectory during individual GPS satellite passes. The detrended GPS TEC values were subsequently transferred from the IPPs onto regular longitude/latitude grid via a form of inverse-distance weighted (IDW) average. When equatorial plasma bubbles (EPBs) are present in the nighttime low-latitude ionosphere, they become visible as regions with highly depleted TEC (i.e. significantly negative deltaTEC values). The detrended TEC data are stored in MATLAB *.mat files. Each *.mat file consists of several variables: a string variable "label1" denoting the year and day-of-year (e.g. 'year=2011 doy=171'); a 1 x 476 array "time_save" of UTC grid (in seconds-of-the-day); a 1 x 501 array "lon_save" of longitude grid (in degrees); a 1 x 551 array "lat_save" of latitude grid (in degrees); and a 551 x 501 x 476 array "vq_save" of deltaTEC values (in TECU).
