Exiguobacterium /sp. OS-77was isolated from Kumamoto, Japan. The strain OS-77 is a psychrotolerant organism, which is able to grow well in a wide range of temperatures from 5 to 40 ?C. The bacterium produces cold-active enzymes, displaying a high catalytic efficiency with a considerable stability between low and high temperature. In this genome sequence project, it can lead us to an understanding of the metabolic pathway at cold adaptation of bacteria and enzymes under oxygenic or unoxygenic conditions.
