Archaeological and paleoenvironmental research in Douglas Creek,
Colorado (Creasman 1981, Scott 1981) has recovered indications that the area
has experienced environmental change through time. None of the sites
previously sampled, however, provided a long time continuum from which to
assess paleoenvironmental change over several thousand years. In order to
achieve a better understanding of the paleoenvironment of the area, nineteen
stratigraphic pollen samples from essentially acultural deposits were
analyzed to provide data to reconstruct the paleoenvironment of Douglas
Creek.
