YAP and TAZ are paralougous mechanotranducers and act as co-transcription factors pivotal for podocyte homeostasis. We used single nucleus transcriptomic data from podocyte-specific YAP- or TAZ-deficient mice to investigate their unique and shared roles in podocyte health and disease. Overall design: Glomeruli from 4-week old podocyte-specific YAP-deficient mice with early - or late-onset of proteinuria (2 mice each), podocyte-specific TAZ-deficient mice (2 mice) and wildtype mice (2 mice) were isolated. Nuclei from the isolated glomeruli were used for single nucleus RNA sequencing.
