NRS-22587 | Records relating to the Construction and Opening of the Old and New Hawkesbury River Bridges

This series consists of records relating to the openings of the Old Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge (1889) and the New Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge (1946). Included are official souvenirs from the openings, and details of design, construction, cost and correspondence relating to the New Hawkesbury River Railway Bridge, contracts and bridge dimensions of the Old Hawkesbury River Bridge, and photos of both bridges during construction and when completed.A mixture of formats includes: pamphlets, official souvenirs, papers, booklets, plans - drawings and diagrams, correspondence, photographs, files, notes and books. Custody History From 1955 until 2000 the State Rail Authority of New South Wales maintained an 'in house archives' consisting of the archival records of the Authority, its predecessor agencies and the private railway companies taken over by the government. The date ranges of the records were from 1849 until 2000. When the decision was made to close the 'State Rail Archives' the parts of the collection that were required as State archives were transferred to the State Records Authority of NSW. Those record series were incorporated into the State Records series system of archives control and were re-numbered. This series was formerly part of the State Rail Archives collection where it was identified as series R486. It may have been viewed in the State Rail Archives as series R486 and could have been previously cited as such in notes by researchers at State Rail Archives or in publications or unpublished works.

### 保管沿革
1955年至2000年间，新南威尔士州铁路管理局设有内部档案馆，收纳该局及其前身机构、被政府收购的私营铁路公司的档案记录，档案时间跨度为1849年至2000年。当官方决定关闭“州铁路档案馆”时，馆藏中需作为州级档案留存的部分被移交至新南威尔士州档案管理局。该批档案系列被纳入州档案管理体系并重新编号。本数据集原属于州铁路档案馆馆藏，原编号为系列R486。此前，新南威尔士州铁路档案馆的研究人员及相关出版、未出版作品中，曾以系列R486的标识对该数据集进行引用或著录。
