We used different feed additives to exlpore their effect on the diversity of rumen microbiota including bacteria, fungi and methangens. Our main objective was to manipulate rumen microbiota to mediate rumen fermentation to enhance production perfromance in water buffaloes. We collected rumen contents after feeding of experimental additives to buffaloes and extracted DNA to sequence 16S-rRNA gene for bacteria and methanogens, while ITS gene for fungi using Illumina MiSeq plateform.
