Quarterly COVID-19 impact on revPAR in India 2020-2022

In the first quarter of 2022, the average revenue per available room (RevPAR) in India was at 2,618 Indian rupees. The year 2020 started well with a RevPAR rate of 3,429 Indian rupees in the first quarter. When a lockdown and travel restrictions were imposed in March 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic, the revenues fell to 534 Indian rupees in second quarter of 2020. Towards the end of the year, the revenues slowly showed signs of recovery.Revenue per available room measures the performance of a hotel or all hotels within a country. The total guestroom revenue is divided by the number of rooms and the number of days in a certain period.
