Ureagenesis plays a significant role in the homeostatic control of nitrogen metabolism in the ruminants. It occurs in the liver, which is the key metabolic organ in the maintenance of body’s energy homeostasis. By the transcriptome sequencing and bioinformatics analysis, we studied the relationship between the energy metabolism and ureagenesis, and also, investigated the direct regulators of the ureagenesis in the liver of goats receiving a 10% (LNFC group) or 30% (MNFC group) non-fiber carbohydrate diet.
