资源简介:
Marinobacter species are commonly found in marine sediments and saline environments, often in sites contaminated with hydrocarbons. Several strains are capable of extracellular electron transport with both electrodes and metals, leading to their reputation as electrochemically active facultative lithotrophs. Marinobacter atlanticus CP1 is being developed as an environmentally relevant platform for synthetic biology, including as a chassis strain to host non-native extracellular electron transport pathways. This development process has included electrochemical characterization, mutagenesis, and transcriptomics. Here, we used transcriptomics to characterize changes in gene expression between wild-type and a rubredoxin deletion mutant of M. atlanticus biofilms and planktonic cells in bioelectrochemical systems at -50 mV, 100 mV, and 300 mV vs. Ag/AgCl, to establish basal gene expression patterns in a total of 35 samples with 12 unique combinations of potential, lifestyle, and genotype.
