For this study, the authors aimed to elucidate its role. A cell culture model was established using a lung adenocarcinoma cell line to generate ZP3-positive and ZP3-negative cell populations. Knock-out of the ZP3 protein caused decreased adenocarcinoma cell viability, proliferation, and migration in vitro, and reduced tumor growth in vivo. RNA sequencing revealed the deregulation of cell migration/adhesion signaling pathways in ZP3-KO cells. These findings highlight ZP3 as a potential target for cancer immunotherapy.
