Characterization of highly ferulate-tolerant Acinetobacter baylyi ADP1 isolates by a rapid reverse-engineering method

Adaptive laboratory evolution was used to increase the tolerance of Acinetobacter baylyi ADP1 towards ferulate. Whole-genome sequencing was performed to discover the mechanisms and genetic targets for the improved tolerance towards the common lignin-derived aromatic compound.
