One sample from a pit feature at the Brickeyes Prison Site, 3LE249, was
sampled for macrofloral remains. Artifacts recovered from this site indicated
Late Woodland and Mississippi Period occupations. Ihe historic canmunity of
Reggio was later founded nearby inthe late 19th century but was abandoned inthe
mid 20th century. Macrofloral analysis is used to address Pre-historic
subsistence activities at this site.
