Genome annotation of humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis)

        Humpback grouper (Cromileptes altivelis), an Epinephelidae species, is patchily distributed in reef habitats of Western Pacific water. This grouper possesses a remarkably different body shape and notably low growth rates compared to closely related grouper species. Up to now, the evolutionary status of humpback grouper is ambiguous in grouper species. In order to promote further research of the grouper, in the present study, a high-quality chromosome-level genome of humpback grouper was assembled using PacBio sequencing and high-throughput chromatin conformation capture (Hi-C) technology.驼背鲈（Cromileptes altivelis）隶属于石斑鱼科（Epinephelidae），在西太平洋海域的珊瑚礁生境中呈零星分布。相较于近缘石斑鱼类，该物种体型极具特色且生长速率显著偏低。迄今为止，驼背鲈在石斑鱼中的演化地位仍尚不明确。为推动该类石斑鱼的后续研究，本研究利用PacBio测序与高通量染色质构象捕获（Hi-C）技术，组装获得了驼背鲈的高质量染色体水平基因组。
