Monetary base of Egypt 2004-2023

In 2023, the monetary base in Egypt stood at around 1.53 trillion Egyptian pounds (close to 73.2 billion U.S. dollars). Of those, almost 70.9 percent was derived from the currency in circulation, while the remaining were deposits by banks in local currency held by the Central Bank, also known as reserve balance.
