Self-Esteem in Crisis: Psychosocial Adaptation and Masculine Identity Among Chinese Men with Azoospermia

This dataset contains the quantitative data from the mixed-methods study entitled "Self-Esteem in Crisis: Psychosocial Adaptation and Masculine Identity Among Chinese Men with Azoospermia". Data Overview:The data was collected from 216 Chinese men diagnosed with azoospermia. It includes:Demographic characteristics: Age, ethnicity, education, occupation, residence, monthly income, etc.Reproductive and treatment history: Infertility duration, treatment duration, number of ART cycles, type of azoospermia.Psychosocial variables: Family relationships, urgency for children, attitudes towards fertility discussions, and spousal dynamics.Outcome variable: Self-esteem scores measured using the Rosenberg Self-Esteem Scale (SES). Data File:The primary data file is provided in SPSS format (.sav). All variable names and value labels have been translated into English to facilitate international use. Note on Context:This dataset represents the QUANTITATIVE component of an explanatory sequential mixed-methods study. The qualitative interview data are not included in this repository to protect participant confidentiality and privacy, as per the ethical guidelines of the study. This data was used for the multiple linear regression analysis presented in the associated manuscript, which identified key predictors of self-esteem in this population.
