资源简介:

Nitrite-oxidizing bacteria (NOB) catalyze nitrite to nitrate, the second step of nitrification, which prevents accumulation of toxic nitrite and produces nitrate as nitrogen source for plants. NOB cells are not planktonic but tend to form complex microbial aggregates. However, little is known about the interaction of NOB and heterotrophic microorganisms. Previously, we identified Acidovorax sp. agglomerated in cold-adapted nitrite oxidizer Nitrotoga cells. The close spatial coaggregation might reflect specific microbe-microbe interaction, which is mutualistic, commensalistic, or even parasitic. The nitrite oxidation activity is affected by signaling compounds and metabolites released from other bacteria. The aim of study is identification of the genes encoded in Acidovorax sp., which regulate the activity of Nitrotoga
