Herbicide resistance evolution in blackgrass

To better understand how herbicide resistance arises and comes to dominate Alopecurus myosuroides populations, we need to learn more about the population structure and genetic diversity of the species across Europe. In this study, we generated various types of sequencing data for A. myosuroides samples from 47 field populations (22-24 individual plants each) across nine European countries. Here, we released ddRAD-Seq data for 1,123 individuals, WGS DNA-sequencing at very low read coverage for two subsets of individuals either highly resistant (61 individuals) or highly sensitive (61 individuals) to the ACCase inhibitor pinoxaden (Axial® 50), as well as long-read PacBio sequencing amplicons for 1,046 and 842 individuals for the ACCase (13.2 Kb) and ALS1 (3.6 Kb) loci, respectively.
