We identified PPTN, a highly specific antagonist of the human P2Y14 receptor, as a caspofungin (CAS)-synergizer against Aspergillus fumigatus. Transcriptional profiling by RNAseq was used to identify genes modulated by the combination of PPTNCAS. We have grown A. fumigatus for 16 h and exposed or not to CAS 0.250 microgram/mL, PPTN 20 micromolar, and CAS 1 microgram/mLPPTN 20 micromolar for 1 h.
