Microbiota analysis of Halyomorpha halys before and after overwintering

The study aimed to assess microbiota shifts due to overwintering. As one proposed method to counter Halyomorpha halys is to sterilize bugs during the overwintering period, is important to understand the microbiota dynamics in relation to this period, during which bugs are exposed to sever conditions and starvation. For example, assess which are the symbionts maintained and which not, if bugs carry phytopathogens and if these are maintained throughout the winter.
