Clone-based sequencing and assembly of the marmoset Y chromosome. This assembly was created from two BAC libraries and one fosmid library. Dr. Suzette Tardif from the Southwest National Primate Research Center provided material for all three libraries. The first BAC library (CH259; https://bacpacresources.org/library.php?id=166), was made from DNA isolated from kidney cells of a male marmoset, SNPRC# 17081. This animal has a male twin, and is a brother of SNPRC# 17066 and SNPRC# 17065. The second BAC library (MARM, Amplicon Express) was made from the blood of a male marmoset, SNPRC# 17065, who is the twin brother of SNPRC# 17066. The fosmid library (CXAG) was made from the same female marmoset used for the WGS project (PRJNA20401), SNPRC# 17066. Because this female was born with a male twin, she was chimeric for XX and XY cells (https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pmc/articles/PMC4138798/).
