Derived expenditure data using best understanding of universities' replies, and using constant exchange rate of $NZ1 = A$0.90= US$0.77 = EUR0.63. Figures given in US$. Estimated EFT academic/research staff and student numbers obtained by reading each university's 2016 report and spot-checking that numbers had not changed greatly in the period 2013-2016.
