VMV code crosswalk for harmonized Athabasca River water quality data, 2000–2025

Supporting data for Hassan & Mirzaei (2027), APCOM 2027. The files document the method-comparability decisions used to harmonize 2000–2025 river water quality records from Alberta Environment and Protected Areas (AEP) for the Athabasca River basin, and the exploratory correlations between guideline exceedance and industrial footprint near streams. Column definitions are in README.txt. (1) vmv_crosswalk_core.csv (134 rows, one per VMV code): Every variable method (VMV) code reported for the 15 core parameters in the AEP river water quality data, 2000–2025, with the comparability decision made for each code during harmonization (56 retained as comparable, 78 excluded). (2) industry_correlation_full.csv (112 rows): Spearman rank correlations between the proportion of seasons exceeding a guideline and each riparian footprint measure, by parameter, across sub-basins (exploratory screen for co-location; see paper).
