The goal is to identify the molecular contribution of Tritia obsoleta 2d micromere to the shell development.Tritia embryos whose 2d micromere were ablated did not have shell or only had an internal shell mass. We ablated 2d micromere from Tritia embryos at 12-cell stage, raised them until they finished organogenesis, and extracted the RNA.
