2024年 大手テック企業の時価総額ランキング

2024年6月5日時点で大手テック企業の時価総額ランキング1位に輝いたのはマイクロソフト（Microsoft）で、時価総額は約3兆1,500億米ドルに達しています。2位には、半導体企業のエヌビディア（Nvidia）が約3兆米ドルで続いており、史上初めてアップル（Apple）を超えました。
技術革新に注力するアップル  
1976年にカリフォルニア州パロアルトのガレージで創業したアップルは、数十年で急成長を遂げ、いまでは世界で最も価値のある企業のひとつに数えられます。アップルは、Macintoshなどのパソコンの開発を手がける企業として誕生しましたが、すぐにほかの消費者向け電気製品の開発にも着手するようになりました。現在では、アップルにとって最も収益率の高い主力商品はiPhoneですが、MacBookやiPad、ウェアラブル端末も同社の好調な売上に貢献しています。技術革新に重きを置くアップルは、研究開発（R＆D）に毎年資金を投入しており、最近では2024年にAR（拡張現実）ヘッドセットを発売しています。 
家電が代名詞のサムスン 
消費者向け電気製品業界におけるアップルの宿敵は、韓国のテック大手、サムスン電子（Samsung）です。1938年の日本統治時代に設立された三星商会を母体とし、その後、電子機器や保険業などに事業を拡大しました。サムスン電子は、近年継続して2千億米ドル前後の売上を記録しています。複数の部門を横断して事業を展開してはいるものの、世界的に有名なのはその家電製品で、特にスマートフォン、タブレット端末、テレビなどが人気です。 

As of June 5, 2024, Microsoft topped the market capitalization ranking of major tech companies, reaching an estimated market capitalization of about 31.5 trillion US dollars. Coming in second is the semiconductor company Nvidia, with an estimated market capitalization of about 3 trillion US dollars, marking the first time it surpassed Apple. Apple, which has focused on technological innovation, was founded in a garage in Palo Alto, California in 1976, and has rapidly grown over the decades to become one of the most valuable companies in the world. Starting as a company that developed computers such as the Macintosh, Apple quickly expanded into the development of other consumer electronics. Today, Apple's most profitable main product is the iPhone, but MacBook, iPad, and wearable devices also contribute to the company's robust sales. Apple, which emphasizes technological innovation, invests in research and development (R&D) every year and recently launched an AR (Augmented Reality) headset in 2024. Samsung, a household name in electronics, is Apple's arch-rival in the consumer electronics industry. Established in 1938 during the Japanese occupation, Samsung Trading Co. expanded its business into electronics and insurance. Samsung Electronics has consistently recorded sales of about 20 billion US dollars in recent years. Although the company operates across multiple sectors, its home electronics products, particularly smartphones, tablets, and televisions, are well-known worldwide.
