Dataset for "Sociodemographic, Educational, and Perceived Academ-ic-Stress-Related Correlates of Aggression Among Adolescents in Kazakhstan: A Cross-Sectional Study Using the BPAQ-29"

This repository contains the deidentified participant-level dataset and accompanying data dictionary used in the study “Sociodemographic, Educational, and Perceived Academ-ic-Stress-Related Correlates of Aggression Among Adolescents in Kazakhstan: A Cross-Sectional Study Using the BPAQ-29". The cross-sectional study was conducted among adolescents aged 14–19 years in Almaty, Kazakhstan, between May and July 2026. Participants were recruited from general secondary schools and technical and vocational education and training (TVET) colleges. Aggression was assessed using the 29-item Buss–Perry Aggression Questionnaire (BPAQ-29), including the Physical Aggression, Verbal Aggression, Anger, and Hostility subscales and the overall aggression score. The dataset also includes the study variables used in the manuscript analyses, including age, sex, educational setting, questionnaire language (Kazakh or Russian), and self-reported perceived academic-stress-related aggression. The repository contains: BPAQ_Kazakhstan_public_dataset.csv — deidentified participant-level analytic dataset used to reproduce the study findings. BPAQ_Kazakhstan_data_dictionary.csv — data dictionary describing the variables, coding, labels, and interpretation of the dataset. To minimize the risk of participant re-identification, the public-use dataset excludes original participant identifiers, timestamps, free-text institution and locality information, and other administrative or response metadata that were not required to reproduce the reported analyses. Repository-specific participant identifiers are used instead. The dataset is intended to support transparency, reproducibility, secondary methodological research, and appropriate comparative research on adolescent aggression and mental health. Users of the data should cite both this Zenodo dataset and the associated journal article when published.
