Organ_Procurement_Coordinators_Qualitative_Interviews

To understand the cultural reasons for insufficient cadaveric organ donation, we designed qualitative research to interview all social actors involved in cadaveric organ donation: Organ procurement coordinators, recipients, donor families, transplant surgeons, clergy members, etc. During our fieldwork from August 15, 2022, to October 15, 2023, we conducted interviews with 30 coordinators.The structured interviews with coordinators (n=18) based in organ transplant centers were conducted face-to-face, whereas those from peripheral hospitals (n=12) were interviewed online. All interviews were recorded in audio format and transcribed using Transcriptor. Each audio recording was carefully listened to for necessary corrections. Authors meticulously review transcripts, aligning interview questions with corresponding answers to identify cohesive data segments.
