Muscardinus census (Muscardinus avellanarius)

Dataset of the presence of the Muscardinus (Muscardinus avellanarius) developed within the Regional Monitoring Network (DGR 497/2007). The Network, in which regional and state protected areas participate, consists of a set of polygonal grids and linear transepts in which artificial nests (tubes or boxes) are placed, which allow the presence of the moscardino to be verified. The data refer to the years 2015-2019 and represent the minimum values of presence in the target areas (they do not constitute either real or apparent absence data). The data are collected according to a standard protocol that includes four annual checks of nest boxes and tubes in fixed periods, the counting of adults and the counting of young.
