The subjects were grouped according to quintiles of serum uric acid: quintile 1 (≤295 µmol/L), quintile 2 (296–332 µmol/L), quintile 3 (333–367 µmol/L), quintile 4 (368–409 µmol/L), and quintile 5 (≥410 µmol/L), for male; and quintile 1 (≤205 µmol/L), quintile 2 (206–232 µmol/L), quintile 3 (233–262 µmol/L), quintile 4 (263–298 µmol/L), and quintile 5 (≥299 µmol/L), for female.
