资源简介:
Freshwater goby (Rhinogobius spp.) comprises some dozen species. Although several species inhabit sympatrically in a river, each species maintains its genetic uniqueness. Marriage meeting experiments revealed that males of freshwater gobies could discriminate females to select the courtship behavior for conspecific females or the aggression against heterospecific females. Thus, freshwater gobies can leave offsprings inheriting its own genetic uniqueness, on the basis of premating isolation. However, it is unknown what happens in the brain during execution of the premating isolation. To explore the neural and molecular mechanisms underlying the premating isolation, we isolated mRNAs from a brain of freshwater goby, Rhinogobius flumineus, and performed the transcriptome analysis by using illumina RNAseq.
