Environmental Migration and Labor Markets in Nepal

Dataset constructed based on the Nepal Living Standards Survey (NLSS) from
2003 and 2010, the Armed Conflict Location and Event Dataset (ACLED), the
Predicted of Worldwide Energy Resource (POWER) project of the National
Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA) of the United States for the
years 1981 to 2013 (US National Aeronautics and Space Administration
(2014), the Center for International Earth Science Information Network at
Columbia University, and the United States Geological Survey HydroSHEDS
(Hydrological Data and Maps Based on Shuttle Elevation Derivatives at
Multiple Scales dataset). These files include all material necessary to
replicate the results of the published paper. The following files are
included: • The stata file “1A.district_pre1ststg_JFVMAS_JAERE.dta"
is needed to replicate Tables 3 and 4 (col. 1-4) • The stata file
“1B.predict_sharesourcek_destinationj_JFVMAS_JAERE.dta” is needed to
compute the probability to move from district k to district j (see
Equation 7). • The stata file
“1C.predict_sharesourcej_fordestinationk_JFVMAS_JAERE.dta” is needed to
compute the probability to move from district j to district k (see
Equation 10). • The stata file “\2.indiv_mainestdata_JFVMAS_JAERE.dta” is
needed to replicate Tables 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8.
