VPRS 14912 General Correspondence, Management of Tanjil Bren Village

Under Section 50 of the Forests Act 1958 (No. 6254) the Minister has the power to appoint a committee of management of any land forming part of any reserved forest. The Forests Commission decided by Commission decision 62/9/31 dated 28/3/1962 on file 60/1246 that the Mt. Baw Baw Alpine Reserve Committee of Management should administer the Tanjil Bren Village. The committee of management was gazetted as the Tanjil Bren Committee of Management.The correspondence includes matters such as a recommendation that the township be placed under a committee of management, survey of the township, applications for sites, rents, membership of the committee of management, commercial services, the village's water supply, property valuations and rating, and sub-division.
