A Dataset of Screenshots Reported as Dark Patterns - Version 1

This dataset was created as a part of the article "Evaluating the Automated Detection of Dark Patterns in GUI Datasets with Open-Source Multimodal Large Language Models (2025)", currently under review. There are two folders as 'dataset1' and 'dataset2': DeceptiLens dataset (Kocyigit, Emre, et al. "DeceptiLens: an Approach supporting Transparency in Deceptive Pattern Detection based on a Multimodal Large Language Model." Proceedings of the 2025 ACM Conference on Fairness, Accountability, and Transparency. 2025) is named as 'dataset1'. Newly added data instances are stored under 'dataset2'. Each dataset contains 'screenshots' folder and 'labels.json' file: 'screenshots': The raw screenshots of web or mobile UIs are present in this folder, in image format. 'labels.json': For each image file, its 'binary label', 'dark pattern type(category)' and 'description of the related dark pattern type' are available in this file.
