**Overview** This data package contains information on atmospheric CO2 trends, surface temperature, absolute sea levels, surface temperature analysis, average mass balance of glaciers and temperature anomalies all at a global level. **Description** This data package contains the Drinking Water Quality Distribution Monitoring dataset provides results from investigating water quality monitoring sensor technologies that might be used to serve as a real-time contamination warning system (CWS) when a contaminant is introduced into a drinking water distribution system. The CO2 emissions dataset contains estimated data from 1751 to 2014 on the source of CO2 emissions (fossil fuel, cement production). Another dataset provides GISS Surface Temperature (GISTEMP) Analysis. Four different series are provided: Global Annual Temperature Anomalies (Land) 1880-2014, Global Annual Temperature Anomalies (Land and Ocean) 1880-2014, Hemispheric Temperature Anomalies (Land+ Ocean) 1880-2014 and Annual Temperature anomalies (Land + Ocean) for three latitude bands that cover 30%, 40% and 30% of the global area, respectively, 1900-2014. Data showing cumulative changes in sea level for the world’s oceans since 1880 are based on a combination of long-term tide gauge measurements and recent satellite measurements. It also shows average absolute sea level change, which refers to the height of the ocean surface, regardless of whether nearby land is rising or falling. Cumulative change in the mass balance of a set of “reference” glaciers worldwide beginning in 1945 values represent the average of all the glaciers that were measured. Negative values indicate a net loss of ice and snow compared with the base year of 1945. For consistency, measurements are in meters of water equivalent, which represent changes in the average thickness of a glacier. Another dataset contains the Monthly Mean CO2 trends in globally distributed networks of air sampling sites around the globe.
