Marine areas of the Adriatic Sea – WFS INSPIRE

The boundaries and names of sea areas are defined by their morphons and toponyms used by experts in the production of maritime charts, school, navigation, military, tourist, fishing and other manuals, as well as maritime and scientific institutions. Due to the geographically simpler and more comprehensive representation of marine areas, marine areas have also been drawn, which partly belong to other countries. The source of the data is the archival publication “Limits of the sea areas of the territorial sea of SFRY” Hydrographic Institute JRM – Split II edition 1976. For more complete information on the entire area of the Adriatic Sea, the data from the above-mentioned publication are supplemented by data from the DHMZ on the main division into the northern, central and southern Adriatic. The web service was developed as part of the project “Increasing the availability of NSDI spatial data through e-services” co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund.
