The TPSCF500 provides monthly and annual 500m snow cover frequency (SCF) images in the GeoTIFF format over the Third Pole during 1950-2024. All values are stored in an integer type (Int16) for saving storage space, and need to be divided by 10000 to get the SCF values, whose range is 0-1. The background value of the SCF images is 20000. Annual SCF images are synthesized from monthly SCF data over the hydrological year, which spans September 1 to August 31 of the following year.
